Sales & Marketing Director

Peterson Europe is a well-established supplier of lighting products for the commercial vehicle market across a wide range of sectors; we seek an experienced Sales & Marketing Director to drive the company’s continued growth. Based at our Aylesbury facility, you will work closely with the Commercial Operations Director to define and lead the overall direction of the company, and deliver sales and profitability growth.

Main elements of the job include:

  • Responsibility for management and development of the existing OE and aftermarket customer base in UK and European export markets
  • Researching and developing new business opportunities
  • Setting and achieving the company’s sales and financial budgets

We wish to recruit an organised, self-motivated and results oriented individual, preferably with relevant market sector experience. Other sector experience with a transferable knowledge base will be considered. You must have experience and/or understanding of working in a small company environment, and be comfortable operating at a strategic business level. Salary, bonus and benefits will reflect the seniority of the role and previous employment experience.

Job Specification

Working closely with the Commercial Operations Director.
Responsible to the company’s shareholders for the overall direction, operation and growth of Peterson Europe.
Setting and achieving the company’s sales revenue budget and targets by market sector.
Setting and achieving the company’s financial budget.
Researching and developing new business opportunities in the territories in which Peterson Europe operates.
Expected to travel overseas as required to manage export customer accounts, attend exhibitions and develop new business opportunities.
Based at company facility in Aylesbury. Salary to reflect seniority of role and previous employment experience.

Personal characteristics

Experience and/or understanding of working in a small company environment.
Good level of education, strategic skills, technical knowledge, commercial acumen and self-motivation.
Organised and results oriented, with good negotiating and influencing skills.
Sector preferred experience: commercial vehicle market, lighting/electrics; others with transferable knowledge base considered.
Territory experience: UK and European export markets minimum.
